What to Include on a Captiva Island Wedding Website

When creating your wedding website, you can include a variety of options and activities for your guests. For a destination wedding, like one you might plan on Captiva Island, it is helpful to share the options for guests to do in their free time, restaurants to try or places to visit. Your guests, like you, are likely traveling in from out of town, and may not be familiar with the area, so things for them to do will be so helpful in making their stay even more enjoyable and memorable.

At South Seas Island Resort

South Seas is a popular wedding destination location and there are a lot of options of things to do right on the property. South Seas is a beautiful property with miles of beach front for all the relaxation your guests may desire. If they want a little bit more activity, there are still plenty of options for them to explore.

Fishing

Settled on the Gulf of Mexico, Captiva offers great fishing. You can rent equipment, book charters and take fishing classes at South Seas. Check out the variety of different charters and services with the link.

Captiva Cruises

South Seas hosts a fleet of vessels and exciting tours that you can do. From dolphin watching to shelling to sunset cruises, there is some water time activity for everyone.

Water Sports & Bike Rentals

Sunny Island Adventures offers rentals, tours and parasailing activities. Check out their website for additional information on waverunners, paddleboards, kayaks, boats, fishing equipment, bikes, and beach set up!

Golf Carts

Golf carts are a favorite preferred mode of transportation and Yolo is my preferred rental company. They are fun, easy to manage and really contribute to the vacation / island vibe.

Golf

South Seas hosts a nine-hole par-3 executive course. Follow the link for additional information and to make a tee time.

Tennis

The tennis facility at South Seas offers 11 courts that are available for day and night play. Or if you are hoping to hone in on your tennis skills, you can enroll in private tennis lessons!

Yoga

While staying at South Seas, you are welcome to sign up for a variety of yoga classes at Ambu Yoga. This locally-owned, multi-style yoga studio offers instruction for all levels, and its talented teachers bring diverse backgrounds and teaching styles to South Seas.

Exercise Trail

Stretching the 2.5 miles between North Pointe and South Village, from one tip of Captiva Island to the other is a network of four scenic trails. Perfect for walking or running, the trails run within South Seas Island Resort's private grounds, making each course a beautiful one.

THINGS TO DO ON SANIBEL ISLAND

If your guests are staying at another location on Sanibel or Captiva Island or want to venture off the resort property, they will find even more options to choose from. The locals are friendly and accustom to tourists, especially in the winter months when most are looking for a tropical escape or attending a wedding.

Biking in Sanibel

Sanibel is connected with great biking paths. Feel free to rent a bike and explore the island. Some great stops along the way include: JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Periwinkle Way, and the Sanibel Lighthouse. Click on the link to see the map of various bike paths and routes.

Sanibel Lighthouse

Located on the East end of Sanibel Island, it encompasses the entire tip of the island. From fishing, to shelling, to seeing a dolphin or two, observing ospreys and pelicans feeding or just general sunning on the beach, this is the spot!

J.N Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge

The JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge consists of over 6,400 acres of mangrove forest, submerged seagrass beds, cordgrass marshes and West Indian hardwood hammocks. The refuge was created to safeguard and enhance the pristine wildlife habitat of Sanibel Island, to protect endangered and threatened species, and to provide feeding, nesting and roosting areas for migratory birds. Today, the refuge provides a habitat to over 245 species of birds!

Kite Surfing in Sanibel Causeway

Due to its warmer waters, Sanibel is a favorite spot for many Florida kiters. This spot is recommended for beginner to advanced kiters and equipment can be rented from Ace Performer. Click on the link for more information.

Periwinkle Way

The island's main thoroughfare is home to several restaurants and shopping opportunities. It's recommended that you ride a bike to the shops instead of driving.
